I felt like getting on a plane and going somewhere far away today.
First, some fuel for the trip.
Boarding went smoothly. I brought my Karin acrylic stand with me.
I flew from Takamatsu to Haneda, then from Haneda to New Chitose.
The sun really does set earlier as you go north. It was only a little past five, but the sky looked as though night was catching up with us.
Otaru again, after four months
I reached Otaru around eight in the evening.
I hadn’t been here since June, yet it felt a little like coming home. I’ve never lived here, but I almost wanted to say, “I’m back.” I could even imagine memories of a childhood friend who never existed. Somehow I had invented the nostalgia before acquiring a hometown.
After my last trip, I made “Natsukusa no Rail feat. Natsuki Karin”.
Everyone around me was dressed for the cold. I was still wearing short sleeves.
A lot of places in Otaru close at nine, so arriving around eight makes dinner tricky.
Why do I make the same mistake every time?
I had dinner at SAKE Bar MARUMOTO, where I’ve been many times before. An Otaru beer to start.
I had tsukune, followed by a little wine and sake.
On to HALF TONE
After dinner I went to HALF TONE.
I greeted the owner and bought an acrylic stand with the same design as the life-size standee. My reason for coming was to photograph it next to the Karin stand I had made and brought with me.
Mission accomplished.
I had a cocktail, talked with the owner, and called it a day.
By the way, I came to Hokkaido to run the Sapporo Marathon on Sunday.
