The weather is bad today. My shoe soles have worn down like slick tires, so running in the rain is slippery.
I’m picking up the remaining Otaru stamp-rally locations from yesterday.
Shops around town first
My first stop was Niikuraya, where I bought sweets and a Karin badge.
I visited Grids, then Tsukushi Makita, where I ran into LaMonade.
I didn’t have a bag today, so I’ll come back for sweets tomorrow.
Next was Otaru Art Base. Karin was in the vault.
After stamping my booklet at Bags Akaishi in Sunmall Ichibangai, I headed up to the university.
Running uphill to the university
I ran from Sunmall Ichibangai to Otaru University of Commerce. My watch recorded 1.67 km in 11 minutes 16 seconds.
The bookstore had panels of all three characters.
The selection was quite different from an engineering faculty bookstore. It really is a commerce university. No O’Reilly books?
With the stamp collected, I went back down the hill.
I stopped at Otaru Bine too. Only POP’n STRAGE remained, but it didn’t seem to be open today, so I left it for tomorrow.
Lunch at Ishi to Tetsu
I had lunch and a glass of wine at Ishi to Tetsu.
Daytime drinking counts as training for the Marathon du Médoc, I suppose. Then I ordered another glass.
A guitar pick and ramune
In the afternoon I saw Rikka at Koueido.
I bought a Karin-model guitar pick too.
At otarue, I ran into Yume without either of us having planned it. We happened to be there for the same reason, so we took a photo.
I drank the ramune back at my lodging. I failed to peel the label off neatly, so I’ll try again tomorrow.
The Shiokaze High School fans I’ve met are gradually heading home. I’m still in Otaru.
Back out in the evening
Everyone else was dressed as if it were winter. In my short sleeves and shorts, I looked like the one clueless kid in the room.
First, an Otaru beer.
The whelk was so good I feel as though I ought to pay tax on it.
I’d also completed the Coca-Cola campaign, collecting all six stamps.
After pizza, I went to HALF TONE again and started with Karin’s cocktail.
After leaving the bar, I walked along the former Temiya Line.
I’m also watching Typhoon No. 8. Depending on its path, I might have to stay in Hokkaido longer.
