It’s my fourth day in Otaru. Somehow half of the trip has already gone by.
After yesterday’s Otaru Canal Road Race and some laundry, I thought about what to do today. Maybe I’ll enter next year’s race too.
The wind had made me worry about the boat yesterday, but today it was going to Todo Rock. I booked a seat.
First I bought rice crackers at Midoriya and continued the town stamp rally.
A boat to Todo Rock
Seabirds chased the boat as soon as we set off.
I saw Todo Rock from the aquarium two days ago. This time I got close by boat, and photographed it with Rikka’s Todo Rock certificate.
More stops around town
In the afternoon I walked around again. The Shin Nihonkai Ferry was in view. It’s enormous.
I visited the knitting Chifuyu.
Next was a summery Karin. The life jacket suits her.
I kept passing places I ran through yesterday. In effect, I walked about half the road-race course again.
I greeted Rikka at Tanaka Sake Brewery, her supposed family home.
I said hello to both Rikka and Tsumugi. I’d like to visit Kasukabe sometime soon.
Seven stamp locations remained, so I left those for tomorrow. Apparently I’d walked about 80 km over my four days in Otaru.
HALF TONE in the evening
Dinner was half a fried chicken.
Then I returned to HALF TONE. Bartender Karin, I’m back.
First I had Karin’s cocktail, then Chifuyu’s, which I photographed with Teto.
Maybe I should have stayed in Otaru for two weeks. Renting a monthly apartment and staying for a whole month is starting to sound good.
I wish there were a direct ferry from Sunport Takamatsu to Otaru.
