The wind was strong from the morning. I wondered whether boats to Todo Rock could sail today.
I’m running the Otaru Canal Road Race. I walked about 30,000 steps yesterday, but off to the venue I went.
I arrived around 7:40 with Karin.
Otaru Shiokaze High School track team
As planned, I ran in my Karin T-shirt. Next to a Chifuyu T-shirt, the Otaru Shiokaze High School track team was ready to go.
I saw this race a year ago and wanted to join in. Now I finally could.
At the start, I turned on YAMAP too.
I didn’t even know the course, so I wasn’t sure how to pace myself. Once we started, I followed the people around me and ran too fast. The last part was rough.
Still, I finished the 10 km safely in about 49 minutes. My watch recorded 49:44 over 10.10 km, with an average pace of 4:55 per kilometer.
A break in Otaru after the race
Afterward I went to Ishi to Tetsu.
Then I had cake and tea at LeTAO with Keisuke and LaMonade, with Karin at the table.
That night we gathered around the plush toys for an impromptu summoning ceremony.
In the morning I was running for the track team, and at night I was sitting around plush toys. Another day of being a fan in Otaru.
