Today is the Sapporo Marathon. I put on the Karin T-shirt I prepared yesterday and headed for the venue.
The underground passage was long.
I arrived sometime after eight. Otaru Shiokaze High School track team, here I go.
Across the finish line
I missed my target time, but I finished the half marathon safely.
After a shower at the hotel, I decided to go to Otaru.
I had to stand all the way there on the train from Sapporo. That was rough on my legs after the race.
I arrived in Otaru a little after two.
This time the slopes were hard. Maybe Otaru isn’t the best town to walk around right after a half marathon.
I went to tell Rikka that I’d finished safely.
The sea and sushi
I went toward the sea, which I’d skipped yesterday because of the wind. Today I saw Todo Rock.
Then I had sushi. The whelk was especially good.
That was enough for today. I hated leaving, but it was time to head out of Otaru.
I said goodbye to Karin too. I’ll try making a heart with her next time.
That evening I had some of the Yoichi whisky I bought yesterday.
I didn’t meet my marathon goal, so I suppose I have to run it again next year.
And I already want to go back to Otaru.
